- January 2024: Just Eat Takeaway has made the decision to terminate its salaried delivery staff in France after three years. The startup had initially set lofty goals in January 2021 to hire 4,500 salaried workers to handle food delivery in roughly 30 locations. But by 2022, Just Eat has begun to restructure all of these locations—with the exception of Paris. Now, 117 workers will be affected by a job-saving strategy set for September 2024 as Just Eat moves to the same outsourced model now in operation throughout the rest of France, which involves hiring service providers and restaurant staff for deliveries.
- September 2023: By working with Fauchon Réceptions, a business with roughly 60 people and yearly sales of over ten million euros, Deliveroo joined the catering industry. Currently serving Paris, Lyon, and Bordeaux, Deliveroo is developing a nationwide network of caterers with the goal of eventually growing to several hundred partners.
- April 2021: A group of investors, including Latitude (LocalGlobe), HeartCore, Founders Future, Octopus Venture, GFC, Battery Ventures, and Rakuten, contributed $37 million to the French firm Taster. The business already has more than ten restaurants that only provide food delivery services in 40 different French cities.
