- August 2021: An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for investments in the tourism and creative economy sector was signed in August 2021 by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM). According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the country's infrastructure development would draw tourists, which will raise the total number of visitors nationwide.
